3rd Annual Summer Send-off Ice Cream Party
The Gunn Lab recently celebrated its 3rd Annual Summer Sendoff Ice Cream Party, bringing together lab members, colleagues, friends, and family for an afternoon of community, conversation, and homemade ice cream.
Held in the CMM courtyard, the event featured fresh-made ice cream in three flavors: classic vanilla, chocolate, and a mystery flavor that turned out to be matcha. The mystery option generated plenty of excitement, along with an important culinary takeaway: matcha and extra vanilla flavoring taste mostly of vanilla. But don’t worry the second batch with pure matcha was a win!
Over the past three years, the Summer Sendoff has become a favorite lab tradition. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the end of summer, connect outside the lab, and welcome family and friends into our research community. Between the ice cream making, great conversations, and a few culinary discoveries, this year's gathering was another memorable success.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event so enjoyable. We're already looking forward to next year's Summer Sendoff and the chance to experiment with new flavors once again.
