New Article Published in Science Advances
We’re excited to share that the first paper from the Gunn Lab at Stony Brook is published! Dr. Gunn is the co-first and co-corresponding author on the paper titled “Cryogenic electron tomography reveals helical organization of lipoprotein lipase in storage vesicles”, which was published in Science Advances on August 6. This paper took longer than expected due to the move to Stony Brook and it’s wonderful that it’s now out in the world for people to enjoy. In the article, Kathryn used cryogenic electron tomography (cryoET) in order to visualize the in situ structure of lipoprotein lipase inside a vesicle. A great show of the power of cryoET for validating structures solved using cryoEM. The lab surprised Kathryn with an ice cream cake to celebrate! The video below shows slices through a tomogram, highlighting the exciting 3D nature of the technique.
