Tom Whitbread Wins Poster Award at BCB Retreat

The Gunn Lab is proud to celebrate an exciting achievement from one of its own - research technician Tom Whitbread, who recently earned the Poster Award at the annual Biochemistry and Cell Biology Department Retreat held in Port Jefferson.

The retreat brought together researchers, students, and faculty from across the department to share cutting-edge science, foster collaboration, and highlight outstanding work. Among a strong field of presentations, Tom’s poster stood out for both its scientific rigor and clarity of communication, earning him recognition from the faculty judges.

Tom’s ability to translate complex findings into a compelling and accessible poster reflects not only technical skill but also a talent for effective science communication!

The rest of the lab also attended the retreat and got to enjoy the talks, networking, ice cream social, and posters. It was a beautiful day and very fun. We love being a part of the BCB department!
