Cell Bio 2025

Our lab was proudly represented at ASCB Cell Bio 2025 (ASCB–EMBO Joint Meeting), held December 6–10, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA, by Dr. Dana Diaz‑Jimenez and Dr. Kathryn Gunn. Their participation highlighted the strength, impact, and visibility of trainee-driven research from our lab at one of the premier international conferences in cell biology.

Dr. Dana Diaz‑Jimenez presented a poster entitled “Biochemical and structural characterization of pancreatic amylase and its distribution within secretory vesicles.” Her work drew significant interest during the poster session and facilitated in-depth scientific discussions with researchers across disciplines. The presentation provided valuable feedback on her integrative biochemical and structural approach and underscored the broader relevance of her findings to secretion and enzyme organization.

A major highlight of the meeting was Dr. Kathryn Gunn’s presentation, “Cryogenic electron tomography uncovers the native filamentous architecture of inactive lipoprotein lipase.” Selection for an oral presentation at Cell Bio reflects both the scientific importance of the work and its strong resonance with the conference audience. Her talk showcased the power of cryogenic electron tomography to reveal native macromolecular architecture and was met with enthusiastic engagement from the community.

Beyond their presentations, both trainees actively participated in scientific sessions, discussions, and networking events, further strengthening the lab’s visibility and connections within the cell biology field. Their accomplishments at ASCB Cell Bio 2025 exemplify the creativity, rigor, and leadership of our trainees and represent a significant milestone in their scientific careers.
