Pi Day with the Department

The Gunn Lab helped organize this year’s Pi Day celebration in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, bringing together students, postdocs, faculty, and staff for an afternoon of pie and community.

The event featured a wide variety of sweet and savory pies contributed by members of the department, creating a festive and welcoming break from the lab. Among the highlights was Dr. Kathryn Gunn’s Thai tea custard pie, which quickly became a crowd favorite and added a creative twist to the celebration.

Beyond the desserts, Pi Day provided an opportunity to connect with colleagues across labs, welcome new members of the department, and strengthen the sense of community within BCB. Organizing the event reflects the Gunn Lab’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, collegial, and supportive research environment.
